Round Structure (WYYC2026)

Championship Divisions

The following applies to all 1A-5A Divisions.

Players must advance through multiple rounds of competition to reach Finals. Seeded players from recognized National Contests and previous World Contests may begin from later rounds.

Round 1: WILDCARD

Freestyle Length: 30 seconds
Scoring: Only Technical Execution (TE)
Music: Choose from the Official WildCard Music List
Who Competes: National Contest 11th place and under -or- Did not compete in a National Contest -or- Anyone not already qualified to other Rounds

Round 2: PRELIM

Freestyle Length: 1 minute
Scoring: Technical Execution (TE), 4 Freestyle Evaluations (FE) and Major Deductions (MD)
Music: Your choice of music
Who Competes: WildCard Winners, National Contest 2nd to 10th place, and 2025 World Finalists 4th place and under

Round 3 : SEMI-FINAL

Freestyle Length: 90 seconds
Scoring: Technical Execution (TE), 4 Freestyle Evaluations (FE) and Major Deductions (MD)
Music: Your choice of music
Who Competes: Prelim Winners, National Champions, and 2025 World 2nd & 3rd place

Round 4: FINAL

Freestyle Length: 3 minutes
Scoring: Technical Execution (TE), 8 Freestyle Evaluations (FE) and Major Deductions (MD)
Music: Your choice of music
Who Competes: Semi-Final Winners and 2025 World Champions

Non-Championship Events

The following applies to Women’s Freestyle, Over-40 Freestyle Master Class and Open Class, and Junior Freestyle.

Round 1: PRELIM

If we have more than 10 contestants, we may hold a Prelim round on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Freestyle Length: 30 seconds
Scoring: Only Technical Execution (TE)
Music: Choose from the Official WildCard Music List
Who Competes: Registered Contestants

Round 2: FINAL

Freestyle Length: 90 seconds (Junior) or 2 minutes (Women, Over-40 Master and Open)
Scoring: Technical Execution (TE), 4 Freestyle Evaluations (FE) and Major Deductions (MD)
Music: Your choice of music
Who Competes: Prelim Winners (or Registered Contestants if there are 10 or less contestants)
